Spoiling the Kids Just a Little

I love my kids very much but sometimes their demands drive me batty. Their birthday parties are coming up over the next couple of months and already they want for me to buy them these outrageous items. It was bad enough when they wanted a celebrity DJ for their 10th birthday celebration. Now they’re asking for all kinds of fancy foods and entertainment.

I told them to call me when they get a nice job to pay for all of this. We are not made of money and they can”t have everything they see on the television. On the other hand,their father will give in to their party demands but he also gets them to do chores around the house that would be considered light carpentry. In that case,I may give in too since the bathroom and kitchen need painting. So I guess it all works out in the end.

So Hard to Decide

You really have no clue how overwhelming the available choices can be until you start trying to plan a wedding. I just wanted something relatively simple, because Joe and I were going to spend a lot more money on an extended honeymoon somewhere at a beach resort, rather than a wedding. Of course, my mom was pretty upset when we said we wanted to go to the courthouse, just myself, Joe and our two best friends. She offered to help pay for it if we’d have even a small enough wedding and reception for our immediate family and grandparents to be there. So that sounded like an okay compromise. I went with her to pick out a bouquet, and wow, I had no idea what all was available as far as wedding flowers in San Antonio. There are so many companies offering a thousand and one types of arrangements, from center pieces to corsages for a mother of the groom.

A Hello Kitty Themed Wedding

Now I’ve seen everything! One of my girl’s best friends was getting married and believe it or not, the whole thing was a Hello Kitty themed wedding. I know they say that it’s the man’s marriage, but the woman’s wedding. I’m wondering, though, how the man must have felt about the whole thing.

From bridesmaids wearing Hello Kitty pointy ears in their hair, to the cake, to the wedding favors, everything reminded the guests that the bride is a crazy Hello Kitty fan. She reminded me of how much fun I made of this ex of mine that has decorated her car in all kinds of Hello Kitty stuff: hood ornament, car seat covers, gear shift stick, and so on… And it’s not something that’s going anywhere: lots of my (seemingly adult) female friends are rocking Hello Kitty debit cards, even though in my mind it’s something that you should have outgrown by the time you’re old enough to go to college.

Unfortunately, Hello Kitty is here to stay, seeing as she’s been around for almost 4 decades

Former Playmate Holly Madison is Single!

Holly Madison, the former Playboy Playmate, has been dating the Holly’s World star, Jack Barakat, for the past 10 months. Holly’s Rep has recently told E!Online that they confirm that Holly and Jack have officially broken up. They first met through a mutual friend. Holly was flirting with Jack via Twitter for about two months, which led to messages, and then the exchange of phone numbers, for the couple to start talking and soon get together. Jack is a guitarist for a Baltimore-based band “All Time”. It is sad to see the two break up because they started off so well. As soon as they met, they hit it off and it seemed like they would last. Even though their relationship was good until it ended, the break up did not seem to affect Holly much, she was seen partying in Vegas.
